Adventure World was built on an old limestone quarry. It took 380,000 tonnes of sand to reshape the land contours to the initial landscape of the park. Michael Edgley International launched "Edgley's Adventure World" on 11th November 1982 and managed the park until December 1990.
Since the year 2000 the park has had a West Australian born and bred owner who lives only 15 minutes from the park.
