ABOUT THE POSITION:

Adventure World offers a range of casual employment opportunities within our Lifeguard Team during the 2022-23 Season, reporting to the Operations Leadership Team.

Adventure World provides an opportunity to use your training and experience to keep our Guests safe on water-based attractions. You will also be willing to attend both mechanical and non-mechanical rides as required.

You will be responsible for providing our Guests with exceptional safety supervision and will;

  • Be outgoing and enthusiastic
  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people from diverse backgrounds
  • Have excellent personal presentation and grooming
  • Provide a can-do attitude to learning and delivering a high standard of service
  • Show willingness to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions for lengthy periods
  • Have the ability to perform a limited amount of manual handling
  • Be prepared to follow Adventure World policies and procedures
  • Work well within a large team environment

What you need:

  • Be available for pre-employment selection, training, weekends and public holidays
  • Be eligible to work in Australia
  • Have a reliable form of transportation to and from Adventure World
  • Ability to follow Adventure World policies and procedures
  • Be a minimum age of 16 by 13th November 2022
  • Ability to identify, address and respond to safety hazards
  • Must have current 1st Aid certificate including resuscitation skills (HLTAID011)

For those who are qualified, you will:

  • Hold a valid Pool Lifeguard Certificate valid until May 2023
  • Must have current 1st Aid certificate including resuscitation skills (HLTAID011)
  • Ability to identify, address and respond to safety hazards
  • Adequate level of physical fitness and ability to swim 200 meters under 6mins, current swim level Bronze Medallion or higher

 

Not yet qualified and interested in becoming a Pool Lifeguard? 

Adventure World Lifeguard Qualification Program:
We are offering a program in which we will organise official training for you, being held on the 3rd & 4th of December at Riverton Leisureplex.
The cost will initially need to be covered by you, however, you will be fully reimbursed upon still being actively employed at Adventure World as of 31st January 2023.  


 

Essential Criteria:

School-aged team members:

  • During school holiday periods: Available for a minimum of four (4) days per week
  • During school term: Available for a minimum of one (1) day per week

University / TAFE / Adult Aged Team Members:

  • 21st November – 26th February: Available for a minimum of four (4) days per week

 

Available to work:

  • Occasional nights for exclusive events and AW Nights events between November & February. 
  • Some weekends & public holidays.

No planned absences of 5 days consecutively between December 26th 2022 and January 31st 2023

 

Applicants are required to apply for a Group Audition to be considered for the position. Please note when you register you will be required to upload a scanned copy of your qualification if one is held.
